We’ve made some changes to our website! Please read below for more information.

What did you change about the website?

We’ve updated the website to deliver a better overall shopping experience for our customers. You’ll notice a different layout, personalized item availability for your local store, better search capabilities and some changes to how you view GT VIP offers.

Why does your website want to use my location and why do I have to choose a store (MY STORE)?

We use your location to find your local store and provide you with the most up to date information about your store.

Choosing your store will allow us to optimize and personalize your shopping experience. Not only will you see the items that are available at your local store, but you will have the most current and correct pricing for the items that you are shopping for!

Why do I have to login again?

We want to maintain the security of your account.

I like to shop in both your French and English website, but when I switch the language, I get a pop-up message telling me that I have to log in again and I will lose the items in my cart. Why?

In order to provide a better customer experience by language, we have actually created language specific websites. The English website is www.gianttiger.com or www.gianttiger.ca and our French website is www.tigregeant.com or www.tigregeant.ca. Since they are now separate, to maintain security for your account, you are automatically logged out and are asked to log back in.

I tried my current password and it says "We’ve updated our website and we need you to update your password as our password requirements have changed. Please complete a password reset. Password must be a minimum of 6 characters with at least 1 number and 1 alphabetic character.". What do I do now?

To improve security and protect your information, we’ve updated rules around passwords for GT IDs. Your password now has to have at least 6 characters and include a combination of letters and numbers. If your password did not meet that criteria, you need to:

  1. Click on the link provided to change your password.
  2. Instructions and a link to update your password will be sent to the email associated with your GT ID.
  3. Click on the link provided in the email.
  4. Enter your new password (must contain a combination of letters and numbers, and be a minimum of 6 characters).

I don’t remember my password. What do I do?

  1. Click on the Forgot Password link.
  2. Instructions and a link to update your password will be sent to the email associated with your GT ID.

I used to be able to look up my order history – but it’s gone. How do I get that information now?

One of the downfalls of having an improved website, is that order histories will no longer be visible for orders placed before October 18, 2020. Should you need detailed information about previous order, please reach out to our customer service team and they will do their best to help you with your request.

It says I can look up my order status – but when I put in my order number and postal code, nothing comes up.

  • Only orders placed after October 18, 2020 are available for order status look up.
  • If your order was placed before October 18, 2020 and starts with 438161xxxxx, please contact our customer service team and they will do their best to help you with your request.
  • If your order has been placed after October 18, 2020 and you are still are unable to get information, please contact our customer service team and they will do their best to help you with your request.

Why do I have to update my GT VIP app?

It says that my phone no longer supports my GT VIP app. What do I do?

You can visit our website on your phone, and view your deals through our mobile-friendly site. You can also continue to provide your phone number to the cashier when you check out and get your GT VIP deals!
