Cupcake Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups Giant Value all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. Giant Value vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs


Heat oven to 350 ℉. Grease muffin pans and lightly flour. Beat all ingredients with mixer on low speed for 30 seconds. Beat on high speed for 3 minutes. Pour into muffin pan. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes (may vary by oven). Cool for about an hour before frosting.

Frosting Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/2 cup Giant Value maple syrup
  • 1 tsp. Giant Value vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp. Giant Value salt
  • Maple flavouring (optional)


Cream softened butter until the butter has lightened in colour, about 3 minutes. Add confectioners’ sugar and incorporate fully. Mix on high speed to incorporate well. Reduce the speed of mixer and add maple syrup, vanilla extract and salt. Beat on high speed for about 30 seconds to lighten. Taste the buttercream and add 1 teaspoon of maple flavouring at a time until it has reached the flavour you prefer. You may need to incorporate additional sugar to have your buttercream at the proper consistency. Top each frosted cupcake with a Giant Value maple creme cookie.
