STORE MANAGEMENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Interested in putting what you learned in school into practice? What better place is there to do that than right here with the people you already know. Our 16-week paid internship program allows you to explore how exciting managing and owning a retail franchise can be, and to develop your skills as an entrepreneur. Imagine being involved in the local community and managing your own business effectively enough to deliver the best possible experience to your customers. At Giant Tiger, you can make that happen. You qualify for the internship if you are:
- Studying a business-related discipline;
- In the summer of your last degree year or in your last degree year of a co-op program;
- Willing to re-locate to a store with an available supervisory position.
Upon successful completion of the internship program, you will be offered a full-time position as a supervisor in a Giant Tiger store and take part in our Management Development Program.
MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Once you are a supervisor in one of our Giant Tiger stores, our internal Management Development Program (MDP) will further enhance your skills and support you on your journey to become a Franchise Owner/Operator. The MDP Phase III gives you the flexibility to complete the program’s 3 phases in succession over 3 years or at your own pace. Each phase is focused on broadening your understanding of the Giant Tiger System – not only in the areas that you are responsible for but also the key factors that influence profit. The program allows you time to look at and enhance your leadership skills, and learn how to support the GT Brand Pillar of "More Connected and Committed to Your Community". The MDP lays the groundwork for an exciting career as a Franchise Owner/Operator. The first step is to apply for a role at one of our Giant Tiger Stores!

In Our Communities
As a community-minded retailer, our store owners and managers recognize the needs of their community. In addition to Home Office national fundraisers, our stores raise funds at the store level for local charitable organizations. Here are a few organizations and initiatives we support:
Operation Enfant Soliel – Giant Tiger Stores has partnered with Operation Enfant Soleil since 2004. The organization offers quality care to hospitalized children in Quebec.
CURE Foundation – A national foundation that provides funding for basic andclinical research for breast cancer. Giant Tiger Stores have been supporting the CURE Foundation since 2007 through the sale of CURE merchandise.
Ride for Dad – This organization raises funds for the Prostate Cancer Fight Foundation through events held across Canada. The proceeds go toward prostate cancer research and public awareness initiatives.
Operation Santa Claus – Top Santa sends care packages to members of the Canadian Forces who are unable to come home for the holidays.
Angel Tree – During the Christmas season, customers can purchase icons to sign and place on a store’s Angel Tree. At the end of the campaign, each store uses the funds collected to purchase toys and gifts based on the needs of the charity they have partnered with.
Funding Innovation – Giant Tiger Stores has been a charitable partner of the Funding Innovation benefitting the Yellow Ribbon Campaign, a branch of the Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services.
