HOME OFFICE
OTTAWA, ON
Our Home Office is in the nation’s picturesque capital: Ottawa! With a population of 900,000, Ottawa has all the conveniences of living in an urban city, and the charm and security of living in a smaller community. Ottawa has several very distinct neighborhoods to live in with the average home cost coming in at around $378,000 in 2017. With so many different options, anyone can make Ottawa their home! There is always something to do here – there are museums, parks (Ottawa has more parks than any other Canadian city!), theatres and art galleries, shopping, great walking and biking paths, festivals and several sports teams.

FUN FACT: Our Home Office is expanding! We are very excited to announce that by early 2021, we will be working out of a brand new space that fosters collaboration and focuses on the employee experience. We’re so excited.

MONTREAL BUYING OFFICE
LAVAL. QC
On September 1, 1990, the clothing and footwear buying office was established in Montreal. The objective: To be closer to the suppliers and manufacturers so as to be in a better position to pick up trends quickly and move merchandise to the stores faster. In 2016, a new office was built for our Softgoods Buying team in Laval. That’s right, joining our Softgoods Buying team means that you’ll get to enjoy the perks of our beautiful, modern office (including all-day natural light, thanks to our skylights).
Laval is just a short drive from Montreal meaning it is a short drive from great food, great shopping and endless entertainment options. Montreal may be known for its food scene and nightlife but there is plenty to see and do during the day! Montreal has great public transit and, with the average house costing around $350,000 in 2018, it is a convenient and affordable place to live.

In Our Communities
At Giant Tiger, we’re committed to giving back to the communities that we call home. If you enjoy getting involved in the community, Giant Tiger has many volunteer opportunities for you to do so. Here are just a few of the meaningful initiatives we have participated in:
- CHEO Trees of Hope – An evening of tree decorating to raise funds and awareness for The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario
- Deck the Halls on Giving Tuesday – Decorating the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation’s Maplesoft Centre for the holidays
- Operation Come Home – Distributing backpacks containing basic necessities, as well as warm sweaters and socks donated by Giant Tiger
- Boys and Girls Club – As part of our Giant Tiger Giant Steps program’s Tuesday Talk series, we speak with youth from one of the Boys and Girls Clubs about what a career in retail is all about
- Les Scientifines – Teaching young girls about the math and science behind fashion
